I'm at Wherlen Bros. and filed a claim about a week ago. Got e-mail verification that claim was recieved, but haven't hear from adjuster yet. I'm sure it will be a while, but just curious if anyone else is further along?

I'm at MM Brick, I called in a Claim 11 day's ago and the next day an adjuster called me. He said a Marine Surveyor would call me, he never did. I called the adjuster today and he said he would call the Marine Surveyor and get him to call me back.... No call!!
Does this sound like "Groundhog Day"? Still waiting for a call!!

No call from my adjuster either.. I called a day after the storm...

I was fortunate not to have damage, but at my marina, the adjusters are just starting to show up and look at boats. Boat
US being the first... They looked at 10 boats at my marina 8 Were Total losses....Sad

Vini, Vidi, Totalli. Got my adjuster before power came back on at home. Surveyor came on Nov.16. Now waiting for the survey to get to the adjuster. Can you call your broker to get the name/phone of the adjuster? You need to be as proactive as you can or your file may remain at the bottom of the pile, and the pile is pretty damn high.

I'm just up the river from you at Green Cove.

Finally spoke to the adjuster who said a surveyor should be contacting me soon. I wanna get this squared away before the winter! I also got a bill from the marina to send to insurance for $2475.00 just for the crane & re-blocking!

Mine was at mm brick floated up the river was tied to a bulk head for 3 weeks
now a total lost per the surveyor
dont know what to do now ( take a year off or try to find another boat that isn't damaged)

Wow, sorry Busman!! I was Winter Stored at MM and am waiting for a "Quesstimate" from the Marina for Damages!!

I am at Morgan Marina and still waiting for my Surveyor. I know many at my Marina already had the surveyor come already. Made my Claim the day after the storm.

Yes it is sad now a couple more weeks went by still only heard from the surveyor that one time I hope to get an answer on what's going to happen for sure

Still waiting for the surveyor to come out and look at the inside of the boat. I decided to have my own independent survey done this week. Can't wait any longer for the ins. guy, who I'm told, may not even be a marine surveyor.

Got the initial Estimate from MM of $40k and then the Surveyor showed up! He flipped when he saw the labor costs, he's going to send another Contractor out to give him another Estimate... so for now the boat sits!!!

:smt009 Is there still a NJ hotline for price gouging from Superstorm Sandy? Not saying that's the case, just wondering????
a

For those of you that had to get your boats uprighted how much was it. To get my boat back on the blocks was $2200. I didn't pay a dime as that is covered under insurance but I thought that was a bit high. :)

My marina charged the ins. co. $2700.00. My adjuster said that was a reasonable fee for crane and re blocking. Now I just wish they would declare my boat a total loss so I can move on and look for another boat.

Marks... were you in the water when Sandy hit??? The reason I asked is I was Blocked and Winterized by 10/05 'cause we were going down to Florida for two weeks. I have yet to get a Bill from MM for the Crane and Reblocking!!!

I was winterized, blocked an wrapped when the storm hit. She floated off the blocks and ended up about 100ft. Away on her side with a bunch of other boats. Having my own survey done tomorrow.

I will tell you after my claim is settled, its absurd...

Just to Update the Thread, received a check from ACE today for the Crane Fee, Re-shrinkwrap and the Revised Estimate on the Damage to the Boat from MM. It took about a week from the last call to the Head Surveyor at ACE till the Check Arrived. We will see what other "non-cosmetic" damage MM finds when the Float Test the Boat!!
