For 8 years as vp this bonehead has done nothing for our vets as they suffered getting treatment under Obama.... stopping by because he was criticized for staying in a White House bubble is pure bullshit politics.... if you believe anything else you are lying to yourself...this guy is nothing more then optics...a career do nothing politician.

Very interesting....designing or armoring a vehicle to withstand an IED is too late. Bandaid solution at best.
If you had remained with the program, you'd probably know that a variety of countermeasures were developed and deployed to detect and/or disable IEDs before vehicles encountered them. You'd also know that the effectiveness of these measures never got any higher than around 50%. Lots of the systems "100% worked" when initially tested but operational performance and the ability of the enemy to adapt always resulted in less than perfect countermeasures results. Hence the need for better vehicle protection systems to save lives.
I stayed in for 3 years watching ...I saw the other countermeasures....they were a joke. Do you know the 1,000 Ford pickup truck story?.... my 10 minute peek inside our military R&D was horrifying
