Our boat typically cranked for awhile before starting, particularly if it has been sitting for long. We had a starting problem with our Jaguar XK8 recently and the mechanic suggested we add a can of SeaFoam to the gas tank. It solved the problem. So I thought it was worth a shot in the boat. We hadn't had it out for about four months and it was almost out of gas. So I added a can of SeaFoam to 15 gallons of fresh gas. Then I tried starting. It turned over for about five seconds and then started. But since then, the thing starts instantly when I turn the key. It never did that before! I don't know what's in this SeaFoam stuff but it sure made a difference.
