Very cool! Where are the sleds?

Actually, my dad(this was shot at my parents place) and I both sold ours this yr. He uses a 4-wheeler most of the time now. I snowshoe most everywhere I don't ski /hike to.

2-3 feet, screw a sled. time to get the truck out there and do some drifting! lol

screw that.... I have an A6 with Quattro... ;) The Tundra is really only a 2wd ... even when in 4wd. (no locking diff's on an '00)

Our ice is probably 18" thick and will go out in March following much warm wind and some rain. Amazing how fast it disappers and how quickly the season can change. How long does it take where you live and when will the ice be gone?

Are you in an area where you have to worry about ice piling up and damaging stuff in your yard? We had a bunch of property owners suffer huge losses last spring when an unusual ice melt took out every dock in sight for about 5 miles. We've lived in the same house for 32 years and have only lost one piling in all those years. It's dumb luck that we live at a spot on the lake where ice-out is not usually a big deal. Not something you think about until after you live on a lake.

I currently don't live on the lake, my parents do, and they have a 4-6' bank and some large tree stumps that keep the ice from getting up on their property. The high water sometimes laps at the bottom of the bank, but that's it. A couple years ago, they had a huge ice pileup like I'd never seen (and I've lived near the lake all my life) before, with huge piles of ice 10-15'+ piled up on shore! It was incredible to see.

I'm actually looking at property on the lake, but I'm not there yet. It's about the same height above the lake as my parents house.

There are folks that live on the lake that have to worry about ice/water almost every year. I don't envy them at all. It's usually good for some shots on the local news every spring during ice-out/high water.

Enjoy the search for a new house. Cool lake.
