Our harbor froze over last night and a thin layer if ice about 1/4" is all around boat should I start breaking it up or will that just make it worse. I have never had to deal with this before ?? One more night of freezing and its warming up to the 40's and 50's and rain for a couple of days...

Don't worry about it. Where we are there are 25 boats in the water all winter and at time the ice can get a foot thick. We control the ice with "ice eaters" but in the 10 years if been here no boats have had damage caused by the ice.

Nah, the ice won't hurt anything on your boat/hull. You don't have anything to worry about. Some boats stay in the water with ice much thicker than 1/4".

The ice was 3" thick last week by the end of the cyclone bomb. My insurance company requires 2 bubblers for my size boat so I would imagine any boat that is insured would require at least 1.
