The wife and I are just staying put this year and having a mini traditional meal. Its actually way more relaxing. Family is important and all but appreciating them from a distance can work just fine. Staying off of the road and not bringing home several bags of left overs to throw out three weeks later is ok too.
Happy Thanksgiving where ever you spend it everyone.

It's just the two of us this year and I'm enjoying it. Listening to some relaxing music and watching the fire in the fireplace. We picked up about 200 or so vinyl 33rpm records yesterday--for free.

They were advertised on Craigslist and I was the first guy to respond to the ad. Tina picked out about 40-50 that she wants to keep. Her son is a vinyl collector so he'll take a bunch more. The remainder will go back on Craigslist--for free!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. The Spatchcocked turkey goes on the Treager in a couple of hours. I'm doing that and fixing the stuffing.

We were suppose to be in TX, however my wife was exposed to someone with covid so we canceled Tuesday. We just got our results today and we’re negative. I still think we as a family already got it.
    Anyway, back to Thanksgiving.....
    Spatchcock!!

Here's our bird. The smokey taste was good and the meat was moist but due to the brine GW used it was waaaaay too salty.

No, maybe that's where we went wrong. Dang.

I think tonight I'll make my turkey enchiladas. As Tony the Tiger used to say, "They're Greeeaaaat". :p

If you're too young to remember who Tony us, google him. :D

LOL.... a couple years ago my 18 year old was taking Flintstone chewable vitamins and I asked her if she even knows who the Flintstones are... she said no. I think the target customers are the moms

    That’ll do it.
I wouldn’t brine a bird more than 15 hours either.

Went to my mothers for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. Me, wife, our 4 kids and their families. Ate way too much (as usual) and shot some guns. Step-son is a detective on the CERT team and has a Kriss Vector .45 rifle with a suppressor and a Silencerco 9mm with a built in suppressor. I had shot those before but it's always fun to try again...lol.

these were from last year when we went shooting but you can see those 2 guns at each end of the table
