Thanks! Happy father's day to you too, enjoy

Thanks. We had dinner tonight with two of GW's kids and their three boys. They're all coming over tomorrow to swim and eat and swim and eat and... well, you get the picture.

HFD to all. It's great being a father but even more fun being a grampa.

Happy Father's Day as well. I just got home from a business trip to Dallas and come down to the boat from Logan airport and everyone is sleeping. To my surprise and delight my wife managed to remove the canvas, turn on the batteries, turn on the shore power breakers that I leave off and turn on the cockpit lights so I could see what I was doing when I got here. I am impressed.

My Admiral should learn from your Admiral :smt001

This is the card the admiral and children sent me earlier today.... I think it is true!!

Ironically my spotlight still doesn't work haha

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads too!

I'm spending the day being a dad. I get to cheer on my oldest son at a baseball tournament as they battle for the championship. They have a great team (26-6 so far) and all of the traveling across the state for games and tournaments has really but a dent in my boating. BUT... I wouldn't change a thing. I've had more quality dad time this year than any other and we have a ton of memories to look back on.

My boys are teenagers now and I realize that opportunities like these will slowly fade so I am truly grateful to spend countless hours in the car and at the ballpark. The candid talks, the ups and downs, the wins and losses, the lousy ballpark food, sneaking a few beers on hot days with other parents, getting lost trying to find a ballpark in a cornfield, forgetting to bring cash then being miles from the nearest ATM, etc....it's all priceless.

When my wife asked want I wanted for Father's Day - I said a boat ride and lunch. We decided it would be less crowded on Saturday so we went to port Jefferson Saturday and had a great day! My kids are out of state so the two of us enjoyed the day.
i hope you guys can get out on the water today too.
Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day fellas! I won't be on the water today, since my kids made reservations for the family at our little local restaurant, where I'd rather have dinner than any "5 Star" place in Atlantic City or Philly. (We live at the 1/2 way point in between.) It's great to be two minutes from home after a big meal and a couple cocktails.

I did get out on the water yesterday and it was the first time in days we were able to get out. High Tide had been running VERY early AM and we don't (can't) go out with this boat unless we have plenty of water, and that's only at high tide, because of our location. I guess if I wanted more boat time during the day I would have gone with a rig that draws less water but I fell in love with my boat and couldn't be dissuaded. It's a damn shame that even in the channel that crosses Little Egg you can hit the bottom a few feet off the markers, but it is what it is and this is where we boat, so we just have to plan our rides carefully and stay in known waters.

But I am off-point now. Here's to all the other Dads out there! I'll spend dinner being regaled by tales of my youngest's latest mods on his nerf guns (he's a future engineer, in the program now in college, and the mods he does are actually scary smart), my middle son's latest rape/murder/kidnapping cases, and my oldest son's "bad tenant horror stories", as if I didn't have enough of my own. The women of the family, my wonderful wife and daughter, will smile and nod a lot as they enjoy dinner. (My son's talk more than they eat at these get-togethers. LOL!)

Hope the rest of you guys have a great day!

[Me admiral has finally come to an understanding. I think this t-shirt is an admittance that would be accepted
in a court of law!
