I like to carry a handheld spotlight on my boat. It's far superior to the mounted bow light. My last handheld was a cigarette lighter plug in and it's now dead. Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm looking for serious bright light to pick out those channel markers at night.

What brand of cordless power tools to you use. I would suggest sticking with that eco system and buy one of their spots. All the major brands have really bright lights and you already have a boatload of batteries for it.

... What are the advantages over some of the others in your opinion?

It is waterproof, rechargeable, but also has a charge port for a cell or the like. Super bright, 180,000 lumens and only $50. Great for the dinghy and walking Cody etc. Great spot light.
