Ok, so this is one of my favorite holidays. Love Halloween! The leaves now are stunningly beautiful, the weather is getting nice and crisp, and we are going pumpkin picking this weekend at Jones tree farm: http://jonesfamilyfarms.com/

Candy, costumes, candy, the kids all dressed up as ghouls, goblins and Harry Potter characters, candy...

So what are you and the kids dressing up as this year?

What do you do for treats to give away?

This year is all Harry Potter. BOTH my daughters are going as Hermione Granger ( I smell a fight a' brewin'), my son is Draco Malfoy, my wife is Bellatrix LeStrange ( I cant wait to see that sexy woman in this outfit!!), and I am going to be Hagrid.

Unfortunately I didnt get to decorate our home as I wanted to this year, no time. We'll be out anyway in the neighborhood trick or treating.

We will be leaving a HUGE bowl (actually Tub is more like it)of treats for the near 100 kids that come by, with a little sign that says "please just take a couple" that I am sure will get ignored.

Tell us your Halloween plans, stories, ideas, etc...

Here is me last year after a few drinks.

Here's my nephew showing me what he grabbed at the door. He negotiates with the people giving out candy.

The other little ones are princess's and bunny's or some kind of furry thing. not sure. Halloween is Uncle Mike's holiday and it's completely nuts. It's filled with sugar rushes, crying, bleeding on at least 1 limb, more sugar, screaming. Love it.

Mike, great pics and story!

It's funny, I pictured you dressed like that normally

I have no pics of us digitally from past years at parties.

As well, this will be the first Halloween in many years that falls on the week I have my daughters, so realistically this is our "first" Halloween together, all of us. THe boy was too young for it last year, this year he cant wait!

you have to take pics, man they are great to look back on. Also lets you know if you are duplicating your costumes. I have hundreds. I have one pic at home of that little guy a few years back. He was sneaking into his bag as i was strollering him back home. We got home and he was knocked out with about 25 half licked suckers stuck all over him.

You MUST post some more lol...I have a feeling you have some very interesting ones!!

Ill take lots this year for sure. The little guy cant wait to get candy...this has been his mantra for the last few days. "tickateat".

I have some pics of us at home I can scan in if I feel like digging through our "not opened since we moved" boxes piled up in the garage.

My youngest (12) is going as "Hillary the Grim Reaper" - He got a Hillary Clinton mask and is coupling it with his "Scream" costume. He came up with it all his own. Since my oldest (14) is almost 6' tall and perpetually needs a shave, I think he is going to have a hard time pulling off the trick or treat thing. We'll see...

We usually get about 150 kids. We usually put the fire pit on the driveway, and everyone on our cul de sac congregates and enjoys a cocktail or two:smt038. I love it.

We go all out our kids and all the neightborhood kids love the house although we did donate our casket last year as it was just hard to stash away for the rest of the year.
Two tears ago the wife and I borrowed a shopping cart, hit goodwill for old clothes and wigs and went as WalMart Greeters. Took first place! Last year the theme was a black pearl pirate party. I fiberglassed a large work out ball then poped it. cut in a head hole and two arm holes and leg holes. Then bonded three sections of 1" PVC tube out the back with springs between the sections. We hot glued cardboard to it tappering from the ball down to the tip. Covered the whole thing with white fabric. on the front i traced out the Mortons Salt Girl with the umbrella and even wrote mortons below it. When I walked the 6 foot tail wobbeled from side to side. I was a Pirate " A Salty Seaman " some girls feared me others had that knowing smile. Told my yougnest it was an albino tad pole. This year its a political theme, i have a lot to work with! If I knew how to add photo I'ld post some shots:(

I am thinking of Marilyn Monroe this year, but I can't decide cause I really thought about being the Joker from the Batman too!! I have a few days to decide, the party is next weekend. You guys weigh in and tell me what you think.I need help I can't make a decision.

I vote Marily Monroe and the specific picture/scene should be the infamous skirt blowing up scene from "Seven Year Itch"

When I was a kid we would go out the day after and "trick or treat for leftovers". We were surprisingly successful.

In college I trick or treated for one nighters:grin:.

 We ALL did that in college. The goth chicks were the tricks.

you boys!!

We are having an outdoor bash out of the garage actually, with a pro dj, beer and jello shots (I ask you what could be better?) We will have two fire pits going and an outdoor heater. I hope that makes it warm enough to be Marilyn, man wish I had a fur right now real or fake.

A bald man with a wooden leg is invited to a Halloween party. He doesn't know what costume to wear to hide his head and his leg so he writes to a costume company to explain his problem.

A few days later, he received a parcel with the following note:
Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right as a pirate.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.

The man thinks this is terrible because they have emphasized his wooden leg and so he writes a letter of complaint.

A week goes by and he receives another parcel and a note, which says:
Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a monk's habit. The long robe will cover your Wooden leg and, with your bald head, you will really look the part.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.

Now the man is really upset since they have gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head so again he writes the company another nasty letter of complaint.

A few days later he gets a small parcel and a note, which reads:
Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a bottle of molasses and a bag of crushed nuts. Pour the molasses over your bald head, pat on crushed nuts, stick your wooden leg up your ass and go as a caramel apple.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.

Then I remember I was going out in college to trick or treat!

In grad school several of us took our fraternity mugs and went around to professors' homes for 'Trick or Liquor'. I think we lasted about four stops.

Some years back before we married, my wife put on Playboy bunny ears and tail, rollerblades, and a VW-in-the-circle logo on her chest -- she was a VW Rabbit.
