We headed up to Roche for the weekend and it was a great trip. Great weather and it was very relaxing. We moored right next to the customs dock so it was interesting to sit there and watch all the peppers and tomatos they were confiscating and all the different boats coming in and out.

We toured the 67' and 80' Ocean Alexanders. I can't even imagine

Watched the colors ceremony both nights. It's a tradition.

Hell, $4M is all? Buy 2 for that price!!!!

Cool pictures, Todd. I think you need another cooler, though...LOL.

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. You buy the boat and I'll help run it with you(Grin)

Nice pics....looks like fun. How was it out on the end of the dock?
The end of the dock was nice at the end of the night. You have an open view to the sunset and it was pretty quiet. In the morning it is a little tippy as there is a lot of traffic running back and forth, but the entertainment watching the boats jockey for posistion at the customs dock is kind of funny.

The cooler on the left was for the crab we didn't catch. You can't see it in the picture but I had a crab pot over the port side. I pulled up lots of crab but they were all rock crabs and female Dungeness.

Todd, Great pics as always !!.
Thank you

Yeah that boat was amazing. The engine room alone I fell in love with it.

Then there's the salon

Todd,

If you traded up for the Ocean Alexander you could get more coolers on the swim platform!:grin:

Todd,

Our kids love crabbing as well. I think you're doing the right thing keeping them in the cooler. Got to love those Ocean Alexander yachts.

Good point. Gotta go check out the Ocean Alexander forum, see what they do?

Todd:

Grant and I are jealous - our favorite spot! Wish we could have been there too! The custom dock must have been so entertaining! We crabbed off the east side of Guemes on Saturday and reached our limit.

Grant was in the Locks on Sunday with all the Cobalts from their Roche rendezvous.

Send me that email and the link!

Cheers, Kathy

We were there on the 7th and 8th. Looks like you had the better weather, but they still packed em' in & we had a great time. They put us right in front of the church...maybe they were trying to tell us something?

KB, I think they were trying to tell us the same thing! A friend of my son is the grandson of the guy who started Roche. Even though he was going to be a senior in high school next year, they MADE the grandson be an alter boy for services!

Sundancer-
Almost if not exactly the same slip! We did have a great time there, even being the one rainy day out of the 10 we spent in the sound. We'll definitely be back, but probably launch at Anacortes or LaConner. Really enjoyed the South sound as well, and will make a separate trip next time - travel to Olympia was less than 2 hours, so a long weekend is certainly do-able. The folks in the 250 next to us came up from Shilshole(sp?).

The trip back South was a bit rough off of Cattle Pass, so we chose to duck back in through Deception. Still averaged 14.9 kts over the 111 mile trip to Tacoma! We'll save that Juan de Fuca crossing for another time.
