Just read this story. All I can say is Wow! Also a strong argument for NOT going deep sea fishing alone!

You're not kidding! Our son (whose a Coastie) is often called out on SAR cases in FL to look for "folk" who go out on their own or with single engine boats without an EPIRB, all kinds of crazy stuff. He says trying to find some of these boats, or crew if they are in the water is mostly near impossible. That guy is really lucky he made it, good job he was a fit "Dolphin", a strong swimmer and didn't come across any hungry sharks. Bet he won't ever do that again.

Wow indeed!

I can't imagine the fish is to impressed dragging a fishing pole around either.

So the guy lets the fish get away.... He loses his boat...had to swim 9 miles.... Lost his clothes ....wandered around in his underwear until he found a cop..... and made national news... Because of him everyone now has to remove their bumper sticker that says. " A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work". .... It just isn't true anymore.

Damn! I thought my title was more creative!
"Former Dolphin swims like a Dolphin"
I will say though that Abbasking's is more factual...

I think I read that he held on to the pole and fish and it actually pulled him to shore.
