Hi,

I recently purchased a 2006 Sundancer 290DA and am working through some smaller projects. The boat came with a Guest 22040A spotlight that is in good working order after replacing the bulb.

When replacing the bulb I noticed the gasket and boot were shot and ordered both parts. The gasket's an easy fix but I can't find any diagrams of the fixture or information on replacing the boot.

If anyone's replaced this boot I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.

Thanks, Jim

to bad you already replaced the bulb, but next time.

The original is a PAR36 aircraft landing light. They only have a 50 hour rated life and as they get older they get dimmer, the tungsten clouds the lens. Not all that good when new.

I went with LED for John Deere tractor RE2516 high/low much better
I had to enlarge the alignment notch slightly and a little tight getting the band on but with a little patience it fits.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Was looking for an LED to drop in but couldn't find one.

I did find this bulb on Amazon, which is much cheaper than the official replacement. It fits and works perfectly AmazonSmile: Wagner Lighting 4700 Sealed Beam - Box of 1: Automotive.

Several of the reviews are from boaters who used it for the same purpose. When this bulb goes, I'll look for the LED. Thanks for the heads up.

following - nice boat by the way =)

Ditto, you have good taste in Sundancers! The guy I bought the boat from here in Connecticut purchased it from the original owner in Maryland. We've got the same configuration including the 5ECD, but mine needs engine work. That'll happen over the winter.

Comparing any lamp is very confusing because there are few "standardized" specifications.

It appears to be the same specs and certainly cheaper, but for some reason rated half the life.
OEM 67296-0000 - 50 hours
Wagner 4700 tungsten - 25 hours

The LED may be more expensive but the rating is 3000 hours, I'll be happy with half.
The OEM drew 8 amps, the LED 1.5 amp
And to me the difference in light output seems 4 times brighter

You’re right, the specs for these bulbs are not readily available. I can buy several Wagner bulbs at the same cost of one OEM so even with the shorter rated life I’m still ahead.
But when this one goes I’ll buy the LED and likely never replace it again. Even at the higher price, it still costs about half of the incandescent OEM bulb.

Turns out that the spotlight motors are shot... it works for now, but just facing forward. So it's back to the drawing board.

Since the wiring bus is already in place my first thought is to buy another 22040A and drop it in place. But does anyone know of a more recent spotlight, particularly LED, use the same wiring bus?
