So, after my log-off last night my windows machine crashed..Hard drive is fried. luckily I had backed up a few things last month so all is not lost. Now I'm on my new iMac20. it's gonna take some getting used to but we'll see, I'm diggin it so far.

Mac's are great. I have used both Mac and PC since both came out and now especially since I do HD video editing on the Mac. Both are great for different stuff but the gap narrowed a few years ago so you can do everything equally on either. But macs are just cooler designed machines astheticaly for me though.

I use both at home and work. All I can say is that I've had the same Mac laptop since 2001 and I can count on one hand the number of times it crashed. Can't say that about a PC!

Just remember to look upper left instead of upper right and you won't have any problem with OSX!

Good luck from a fellow paramedic and instructor of 35 years.

It's weird kinda creepy that my windows machine crashed today... I was planning on getting my Mac tomorrow.. think we may have lost about a years worth of photos though:smt013 But it's off to the data recovery lab to work that out...here's hoping:huh:

So the machine came with 2 x 1gb ram cards which I upgraded to 2 x 2 gb cards. They gave me the originals. Is it worth it to post these on eBay? No idea what they are worth if anything, but I can't see a reason to keep them

Oh and BTW, I plugged every electronic device I had in the house, and guess what?? They all worked. iPods x 3, printers x 2, internet modem and wireless router, cameras x 2... all of them.

yep, they are worth something on ebay. Everything is worth something on ebay.

Welcome aboard. I made the switch a few years ago and the only Windows machine I have left is my gaming machine.

I went from a constant war against viruses and malware on my wife and son's computers to no worries whatsoever.

well I can say that apple did a real number on iphone users today. oh boy oh boy did they screw this new release up. I've been without a phone for 3 hours now because of the flood of people trying to update/register their phones. The launched the 3G, iphone 2.0 software, and the me thing all at the same time and worldwide. now their servers are down and no one can get their phones working. Doh!!!!!

Mac guy from the beginning

Never have had a PC. Used one at work but my Mac's blow away the PC's. Never have had a problem with my Power Mac G4 or my Imac.

When the internet cable guy came to hook me up he told me that Mac's never have problems. I knew that.

Wife did not want a Mac but I said that was the only machine I would buy. It did not take her long to figure out the operating system.

There has been no better MAC salesman than Vista!

Another data point. I have two laptops sitting side by side most days. One is the corporate Thinkpad running windoze. The other is my personal MacBook running 10.5. The Mac has a slightly faster processor (2.2 vs 2.0 GHz), the have the same RAM (2GB). The Mac has more disk (120GB vs 60) and more IO USB/Firewire/Bluetooth vs. just USB. The big advantage is battery life. The Mac's battery last more than twice as long as the PCs. Isn't that the whole point of having a notebook computer?

Best regards,
Frank

Frank....was that you I saw on the Parkway this morning....

Not me. That plate doesn't look like it's attached to a black Lincoln Navigator. I was on 287 this morning.

Best regards,
Frank
