GT40 heads

I am still trying to source replacement heads for my '77 Mercruiser 888 (302) that had recent freeze damage. I have already heard that 351W heads are an option, but another local supplier tells me I should be putting GT40 heads on instead.

Does anyone know if the GT40 (or GT40P) heads will work on the 888 (302)?

Thanks for the info...that tells me that those Summit " Turbo Swirl" heads are "lighter than GT40 heads"....but does that necessarily mean that the used GT40 heads my parts source is trying to sell me will work on my '77 Mercruiser 888?

I don't want to sound ungrateful, and I do appreciate the info, but I am wanting to know specifically about GT40 heads since I have a source for a used set. I have since learned that there are "GT40" and "GT40P" heads, and differences in spark plug angles.

Can anyone tell me if GT40 or GT40P heads will (or will not) work on my 888? Will the 888's exhaust manifolds work with these heads (exhaust ports, plug angle, etc.)? Will it require a special intake manifold? Gaskets?
