Grey Water Tank Hose

Hey guys...I'm sure the hose from the sump to the tank is partially blocked with scum. I'm not sure how to clean it.

I saw a video where they put dishwasher soap in the tank. Would that leach into the hose?

any suggestions?

Try vinegar and baking soda in any drains that empty to the grey water tank. The foaming action can help clear scum all the way through without major risks to hoses, seals, and other components. After ALL the fizzing/bubbling stops, flush well with hot water, then repeat this cycle several times. Once you've given the hoses a good cleaning, use the soda/vinegar/rinse process on a periodic basis as preventive maintenance. Also, if you currently use bar soaps for bathing, consider switching to liquid/gel instead, as they leave less residue.

Hair and other debris will harden when it dries out. The "go to" method here is to drag a hose into the boat. open the sump box and place the hose nozzle over the drain line discharge into the sump box and give it a momentary squirt to try to dislodge the blockage. If you can get any water to drain thru the shower or sink drain, you are making progress. You can then resort to soaps, vinegar, etc. to try to clear the remaining blockage.

It isn't a cure all, but it does seem to help in reducing gum, sludge and odors.
