Hello ! I'm also new to the group ! Can anyone tell me just exactly what the "Grey Water Option" in on the new 350 Dancer ? My dealer does not know ? And can't find anyone that does ? It is an upgrade ? Extra Tank ? Pump out bilge ? Just searching !
Thanks !! :smt100

Grey water is water from sinks and shower. Black water is from the head. I believe on a grey water optioned boat, the Grey water is pumped to the holding tank rather than out in the water via a thru-hull. On some boats there may be a seperate Grey Water tank. Some lakes require this option to operate a cruiser on those lakes.

I am suprised you dealer did not know this. They would have ordered it that way.

Some also will incorporate a grease trap from the kitchen sink. Sure glad our lake does not require this but I know of some that do.

Thanks for your reply's ! I do know that the grey water should be different from the black, but just can't figure out if there is a extra tank, bilged overboard, or option for both ?
Kinda weird that it was ordered, and no one knows what it is ? I have even called three dealerships, and THEY do no have an answer ? Believe it or not, it's about a 850 dollar option !! Surely it's just more that a Y valve or a couple of hoses ? Nothing in the OM either ??

From Section 7.4 of the 2010 General Sport Cruiser Manual

4. GrayWater System
If installed, the gray water system is designed for boats that are used in areas that restrict overboard water discharge.
The system directs waste water from accessories such as the galley and head sinks and shower to the shower sump that is fitted with a float switch and pump that pumps the water to the head system holding tank. The tank must be emptied when it becomes full.
To empty the head/gray water system holding tank, the services of a dockside pump out station will be needed.
Follow instructions at the station and make sure pump out station hose is inserted into the deck plate marked WASTE.

Sounds like the Gray Water Goes directly to the head tank. If there is no way to bypass the gray water system, I think you will be doing alot of pumping out with a 28 Gallon Holding Tank. May want to check in to a bypass unless your lake requires it.

Yeah, sounds about right for the MSRP of this type of option.

My lake requires that no gray water is discharged. The gray water option on my 2005 300 Sundancer, ran all the sinks and air conditioner drain into the shower sump and rerouted the shower sump output into the vacuflush black water tank. Obviously this means more frequent pumpouts.

My current boat is the same except it has a seperate 30 gallon tank for the gray water. This means I have two deck fittings and have pump out two tanks.

You don't want a gray water system unless your boating area requires it. It's really easy to fill the tank or tanks with a couple of showers. Plus all the stuff you dump in the sinks tends to stink up or clog your shower sump.

With all this talk about Gray Water Systems, it makes me wonder if there are any boats out there equipped with a Gray Water System and a Macerator?

That would be a bit unusal but not unlikely I am sure. Especially since when ordering, his dealer apparantly did not know what a Gray Water System was.

Thanks for everyone's help on this for a newbie !!
Yes, believe it or not, it has both! Grey Water & a Macerator ?
I guess this adds another wrinkle ?
Thanks Again !!

Wow- you have got to be kidding me! I guess they got carried away with the checkboxes on the order form.

You would think, that some Dist. Rep would prep them on these things :) !!
Oh, well.... Looks like I'm going to be pumping alot... Or... Doing some plumbing !!
