Hi Guys,

This is a step I neglected to do last year when I joined the forums. My name is Jeremy, I'm from Brockville, Ontario (Canada). Lifelong sailor but last year, I decided that I only love racing sailboats, not cruising them so Miss Alison and I pursued going over to the dark side of "power".

Having boated quite a bit, we loved the look and reputation of Sea Rays so started a local search. However, after hearing about cheap shipping deals in the U.S., we found a 2003 260 DA at Prince William Marina in Woodbridge VA. We got a great deal on a certified pre-owned boat and had literally the best purchase experience of anything I've ever bought, down to a cup of coffee with our salesman, James Ross.

We shipped the boat up to Alexandria Bay NY in May 2009 and had a fantastic summer in the islands, weather notwithstanding. Loved the boat, the lifestyle and the people we met on the ride.

In August, a guest crewman on our racing sailboat expressed his admiration of our boat and asked if we'd be interested in selling it. Having only considered a larger boat in passing, we jumped at the chance (selling for more than we paid) and bought a 2006 300 from James Ross in September.

Here it is, after a cold winter looking at pictures of our new blue boat, April 2010 and we are so excited about getting the boat in a few weeks.

Looking forward to sharing and learning here!

Welcome and be careful with that 4 foot itis. It gets contagious after about 10 nights onboard.

The only cure that I know of is hand waxing. That will make you long for a SS Dingy.

No doubt about the waxing - we have a blue hull this time around (just typed "hell" by accident - freudian slip) and I'm a little apprehensive. My OCD side cannot stand the blue hulls I've seen that are all chalky looking, so I know I'll be spending some time on the maintenance.

However, this is what hot days and beer were invented for.

You will do well as a Powerboater, Grasshopper.

Hey Jeremy and Allison. You will absolutely love the 300DA. Wide beam, twin engines. Large aft cabin. All good! Don't sweat the blue hull. They do look absolutely great. Just be sure to keep up with the extra maintenance. I had a blue 260DA. Any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck, Brian
