Hello folks ! My wife and I have decided to join the water worshipers and buy a Sea Ray. We didn't think we would want a boat down here (we came from MI), but have decided to take the plunge. We are in the process of obtaining an '05 Sundancer 300 with all of 40 hours on her ! She's outfitted with 5.0L Bravo II engines, and has all the good stuff like generator, TVs, camper canvas and cockpit cover, windlass, upgraded stereo & GPS/plotter, etc. We're going down to have her surveyed and do a sea trial Monday. Should make a great first boat, eh ? I'm looking forward to a great learning experience. We needed a way to relax together, since we seldom go away on vacation, and are getting tired of the "what do we do this weekend ?" question. I welcome all advice, especially from Middle TN boaters. Thanks in advance !

Welcome aboard, remember to update your signature with your boat info/location.

Thanks all. If all goes well this week, we'll probably be on Old Hickory Lake.

Where are you docking at? We are at Old Hickory Marina aka Black Jack Cove. Look us up, I have my 500 Sundancer there, "La Donna Props" and my 390 EC "Say What". We're out every weekend.

Survey and trial went well today. We'll see if the seller will fix the few deficiencies found. A most knowledgable and engaging Surveyor, and his report will be very useful, I'm sure. Wish I could hire him for a week to show me the ropes ! Looks like we'll be docking at Creekwood Marina if everything goes as hoped.

The restaurant across the street is pretty good if you are staying at the dock. Take your time learning the lake if you aren't familiar with it. It's very shallow in places. If your heading towards the dam it is pretty open but going up river can be tricky. (watching people playing volleyball in the middle of the lake says it all). Congrats!

Well, things have worked out, the seller has adjusted his price to cover the little fixes, and now just have to close and get the boat trucked up from AL. Man, oh man, do I have some learnin' to do ! Good thing my salesman is gonna give me some dual...

Yep. Erwin's is who I'm dealing with, and Jennifer does seem to know what she's doing. Probably end up direct-depositing my paycheck there....
