It is amazing how much "fall" is in the air already. We just spent the weekend on Nut & Honey B. It was great. A chance of heavy thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon had a lot of boaters buttoning up. Those of us that stayed out made the correct decision. The storms passed south of the Quad Cities. The sun came back out and all was fine after that.

We had a lot of excitement in the LeClaire Canal (L&D14a) when a worman decided to go swimming about 10 PM without letting anyone know on the boat that she was on. An Iowa DNR boat happened by right about the time someone noticed that she was not on board. Within minutes, all the area resue boats, police cars and ambulances we at the scene. The search took about an hour. They found her on another boat about a 1/4 mile away. Luckily she had put on a life jacket when she went in. They did cite her for intox!!! I hope they send her a bill for the rescue too.

Glad you had a great weekend. Other than a quick outing on a friend's boat, we were land-locked. My wife helped my daughter get settled back in at college and I worked. We did visit the standard group out at the island for a few minutes when we went for a ride - the weather seemed perfect for them.

Yes the fall seem to be in the air late Sunday. We had a great Sunday evening meal on the lake with some skiing before but that was about it.

It is that time of year again, we did the the same thing all day Saturday.

On the boat all weekend ourselves. Saturday was fantastic, a little muggy yesterday. But yeah, a taste of fall.

Now, if I can just get myself to spend time on the boat and NOT work on something......

Wakeboarded last night from 5 to dark. Severe thunderstorm alert so we were ready for a jet up to the 84 bridge to shelter under.

Didnt rain, water was glass, all the other boaters were gone.

Sweet.

We went to a boat-in movie on Saturday night. An Army Jazz/Brass band played before the movie. It rained on and off (rain, in WA? really?), but the band was great. On one of the blues tunes, the trumpet player improv'd "Singing in the rain" on his break. They ended with "Stars and Stripes Forever". Rain or shine that is a recipe for a good time.

Movie was "Water Horse" to appeal to the kids, but I would have liked "Water Boy" better.
