I'm a 2nd year boater. Boat is kept at the Blue Point Marina. Our first boat was purchased last year at Surfside 3 and we're in the process of trading it in and buying another one from them this week. I would love to speak to other Searay owners in the area.

Hi Bam073: I am only a 3rd season boater. I will be keeping my boat at Oakdale Yacht Club this coming 08 summer season. I also bought both of my Sea Ray boats from SS3. My saleperson was the used boat sales manager, Mark Walbrecker. He is a great guy. If you have a chance introduce yourself to him and tell him "O.J." (that is my nickname for years) says "Hello". I used to keep boat at SS3 Lindenhurst but had a small situation and decided to go elsewhere. They are really good people to deal with though especially Mark. What type of boat do you have now and what are you buying? You can sent me a private email if you want to discuss anything in great detail and then we can exchange phone numbers and even talk if you like.
Good Luck

Hiya - we're just getting into our 2nd season also.
We bought a '00 260 Sundancer from SS3 and will be keeping it there this season.
So far we've really enjoyed the GSB - hopefully this season we'll participate in more of the SS3 events.
Let me know of you have any questions - not sure I'm the seasoned expert you might need, but i'll give it a shot.

We've been boating the GSB for years, went from an 03 320 SUndancer to a 2006 40 Sundancer that is now for sale as we look to move up to a 44 Sedan Bridge. Both our previous boats were from SS3 not sure the 44 wll be. I've not been happy with their service and since they became marine Max their boat prices tend to the high side.

Another GSB boater here......been boating and living on the south shore for the past 10 years.

I also purchased 4 boats from SS3/MM.........I agree their attitude has changed.

If any of you guys/gals are around the Blue Point area (my slip is attached to J.T.'s on the Bay (restaurant) drop me a line.

Keith D- when do you buy your 260 from SS3? We just closed on ours this past Saturday. Can't wait to get out on the water.

We picked her up last year, end of July. We had a slip at the SS3 marina up the creek (the boatyard marina), but this season we'll be down in the main marina. It's really a great location to get out and into the bay from Lindenhurst.
Where are you slipping your new boat?

Brian,
Good luck with ur new purchase.. Guys just beware sometimes the dealer READS this ... they dont like bad press!!!

I bought a new 2006 280 Sundancer from SS3 Lindenhurst in Aug 2006. I have been boating since 1991, and have never been treated as good as the SS3 Lindenhurst folks have treated me. I keep my boat at SS3 in Huntington, where I have been since 1991. This yard stinks, I only wish I could be with the people from Lindenhurst, but I live 5 minutes from Huntington and its so close. I stayed for the 2006 year at SS3 Lindenhurst, and was sad to go. But, I feel that something is going on there, because I know 4 of my friends just bolted and will all be in the same Oakdale Marina next month.

P.S. I will not let SS3 Huntington touch my boat, I had a special trailer made for the boat, and tow it to SS3 Lindenhurst for Winterizing, and they send a servicevan to me if I call.

Alot u guys know how i feel.... IF Ur serivce sucks people deserve to know it ... DONT take out ur job anxiety on the poor customer.... improve ur servce and people wont bitch...... true u cant please everyone....... but crap, u have to atleast please someone.....

Hey Seacurity: Who else bolted from SS3 Lindenhurst and went to Oakdale? It's a nice place at Oakdale and well east of the RMB so you are already ahead of the game if you travel to Watch Hill or further east. I did love my slip neighbors at SS3 Lindenhurst but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

my wife and our kids have been boating on the great south bay for the last 10 or 12 years now. i actually grew up in blue point and my famialy had a small boat we used to fish on. we dock at oakdale yaht cub for the last 5 yrs now and usually go to atlantique or watch hill on the weekends. i had a bad exsperience with marine max last yr when we purchesed a 2001 41 sundancer. the service sucked! a friend also bought a 34 da at the same time and was very unhappy. that was the forth boat from them he bought and the secound that i bought and niether one of us will ever go back! it was a pleasent exsp when it was surf side. if you are looking to hook up with someone on a weekend trip let me know we try to go as often as we can. but with three teenages its not easy!

I keep my boat in Lindenhurst up the canal from SS3.
I went there for a slip last summer right after I bought the boat. I was referred there by the people I bought the boat from. It looked like a nice enough place, they had a couple of slips available and it all seemed like a go until the Dock Master told me that if my boat didn't look good enough in his opinion when I brought it there that he would refund my money and kick me out.
I told him it was a nice boat and that the previous owner had bought it from them about three years earlier. He told me "that don't mean nothing, we sell a lot of $hit boats here".
I had never dealt with them before and took that as a cue to go elsewhere.
I shared my experience with the people I bought the boat from and they were shocked. They had bought two boats from SS3 in the last five years and said they would never go back there again after hearing that.
After getting this inside information from the Dock Master I wouldn't buy a used boat from them either.

Hi,
Another GSB guy. ironically my Sea Ray is located at Corey Marina. I can see the restaurent from my boat. Been there for about 3 seasons. How does anybody get out of Blue Point Marina, the distance between the boats is too small for me. Anyway see you at Watch Hill this summer. All the best to you all for a wonderful upcomming season.

Hey Srdncer,

Look me up there. I am going to look for your boat. This is my second season in the marina. We really like it. Last year when we came in and were told the restaurant slip was the only one available I was hesitant to take it. At that point they put me on the waiting list to get inside where you are. Now this year I bought a 26' Dancer which is cutting it close where I am. They had a slp inside but I didn't want it for the reason you say. It looks very tight in there. I could just see my anchor heading right towards somebody's hull!

I see that Justin has been getting the restaurant ready. Can't wait to get back into the season as it's been a long winter.

If/when you stop up at the bar stop by and say hello.

Chris
