Great Products That Work

A friend text me, he uses MEK to do the same as the boat cleaner pro. I picked some up last night and will use it next time as well.
Yep, that is what Boat Cleaner Pro is based on.
yes. And contrary to the post above that toluene is carcinogenic, it is not according to the product’s safety data sheet. It is flammable and repeated exposure is not advised so it needs to be used in a ventilated area. It it is not known to be carcinogenic. Long exposure is not really much of an issue as it takes just about 30 minutes to clean a 50 foot cord once or twice a year.

Here's the latest thing I did. My Sea Doo Explorer sat in the weather in Huntsville for over a year (thanks COVID!) with no cover. When I got there last month I decided to clean her up and move it out.
This walk away is about 5 minutes. On really bad stuff, I have done 2 applications a day apart, waiting about 5-10 minutes.

I gotta say thats amazing.....

One word of caution about a products Safety Data Sheet. These are prepared by the manufacturer of the product. So, things like "suspected" vs "known" carcinogen can be selectively utilized to weed out negative aspects by manufacturers when preparing their SDS's. Both MEK and Toluene are on EPA's target Analyte list of volatile organic compounds and have been for the 32+ years I have been testing for them in our national groundwaters. This list of chemicals typically includes more than 64 analytes. A good resource beyond the SDS is National Institute for occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Pocket handbook of chemical hazards (see this link: CDC - NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards - Toluene) While not specifically detailed as a carcinogen, you can see Toluene is chemically hazardous at fairly low concentrations and many sources list it as a suspected carcinogen. Unfortunately, the same for just about every great cleaner out there. BTW - Toluene a significant chemical in gasolines. Note the exposure levels in the handbook are in the parts per million range. You will see, if you havent already, a tidal wave of information starting to roll across your news media outlets about PFOA/PFOS also known as forever chemicals. These were chemicals developed and used by such manufacturers as Dow and 3M to manufacturer Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF), non-stick products (think your kitchen pots and pans), and coatings in/on fire retardant clothing. These compounds are ubiquitous and unfortunately bioaccumulate in the human body at the parts per trillion range causing all sorts of nasty affects on humans. Because the manufacturers of these products havent told us much about their toxicity (think MSDS's the predecessor to SDS's) since they were starting to be readily used in the 50's through the early 2000's we are now stuck with managing the release of these chemicals in a great portion of our nation's soils and groundwaters.

So, While I myself, use products such as toluene and MEK, acetone, and non-stick pots and pans, making informed decisions about their use and hazards is a good thing not to be taken lightly. I had a friend who had two other friends hired to clean out some chemical storage tanks at a mining site back in the early 90s. The site supervisor gave the two workers half face respirators prior to entering the tanks to clean them. some time later these two were trained by a different employer in the use of respirators and learned that they are useless without chemical and/or particular filters attached. One thing their prior site foreman forgot to provide them so they had worked all day cleaning those chemical tanks in respirators with no filters.........

This product actually does what it says. I almost didn’t buy it because of the “as seen on tv” logo. I applied it to my dash that was faded and the eyebrow over the instrument panel. It literally made it like new. That was 6 years ago and still looks like new
