Great fall weekend for boating

See, now that I don't feel bad about. I have $4.79 per gallon gas in my tank. The gas in my tank is far more valuable than the gas you're putting in your tank. I'm thinking of it like an investment:grin:.

You tell yourself whatever you need to.

Seriously, I'm trying to take advantage of these kind of weekends as they come up. Mid 50s isn't considered great weather, but around here if we get clear skies and calm winds, I don't care if it's in the low 30's, it's gorgeous.

I don't blame you. If I didn't have to drive 3 1/2 hours to boat, I would do the same. But when you have 2 boys on three soccer teams and a baseball team, you don't get any weekends off. Oh well, there's always next year.

Have fun Todd.

Well if it makes you feel better, we decided not to go out today. It's a beautiful clear day but the winds are supposed to kick up. I'm going to bring it home though to install a transom switch and maybe test out some polishes.

Another great weekend in Jersey. The bay was smooth as glass. Very, very light boat traffic. Nice temp (assuming you wear a light jacket). VERY enjoyable.

Of course, dusk at 5pm is a *serious* problem.

We did a 4 hour cruise Friday afternoon down the James River. The foliage was spectacular and the weather was fantastic. We pulled into Hampton right before sunset.

We stayed overnight in Hampton and then back on the water for a 2-hour cruise north on the Chesapeake Bay. The Bay was calm, 1-2 footers and the skies were a perfect blue. Temps in the high 60's. What a great 2 days of boating.

Great weekend on the Ohio River here in Louisville. Fall colors were at their best...

Great first weekend on the 370. Took our satellite dish to the beach and watched football, cooked out and then a bon fire in the evening. There were a few other boaters out and the lake was really calm (made a great first impression on our guests backing into the slip...whewwww :smt001 ) Wife and I slept onboard for the first time. and slept great! I think I'm gonna like the fall boating season!
