Grang Opening Tailrace Marina-Mt.Holly 4/10

I won a slip in the marina from the boat show this year. Actually it was for a half price slip, for a year. I turned it down though. I live up near Lake Norman now. I think it will be a nice marina when they get all the amenities opened up.
Oh, naw I won't be going.

Jason ... Did you go?

Yes, I did by land. Nice new, clean docks. Alot of potential but since it is right on the river there is naturally a pretty strong current going right through the slips. I would be excited about the possibility of a restruant but I don't think I can get under Wilkinson Blvd bridge since it is so darn low. Nice marina but I am thinking most cruisers (at least with an arch) won't be able to get under that bridge. I remember going under that bridge with my 225 and thinking my bimini barely cleared.

That along with the shallow water could make it tough for anything larger than a bowrider to get there from the lake.

Maybe someone can get some stimulus money to raise that bridge up 5 or 6 feet?

I am really confured why they would put a marina in that location. How deep is the water up there? My map of the lake doesn't have depths listed that far up the river.....

I wish the odds were that good on the Powerball. I think everyone I know that went to the boat show won a slip there.
