GPS mounting

I'm trying to figure out a place to mount a GPS. The install manual calls for it to be 26" from the compass. That doesn't leave many good spots. I'd like to keep the compass as a backup to the GPS along with a chart. Just wondering what you guys did for mounting. :smt100

I mounted on the dash close to my compass as well as sounder. You're GPS will have your heading so I wouldn't worry about the compass.

I used this to mount mine. Its a RAM mount. WM has them (p/n 319147) and you can find them cheaper on line.
