Thanks for the advice guys, I know that Lowrance is an option here amongst others, but having a recommendation helps. One other question I've read that about In-Hull transducer, have you got esperiance of them & do they work?
thanks

You could go with an airmar p79 which you would glue into the bilge. A better choice would be an actual through hull such as the airmar b60. Both will work well but the p79 looses some signal going through the hull. I have also seen the stock lowrance transom mount transducer glued in hull with acceptable results. If you go with the downscan the transducer has to be in the water, it won't work glued in the bilge. Having the xducer in the water also gives the option of having water temp readings. In your application I would go with the transom mount.
