GPS/Chartplotter Question

So....after a bit more research....just a little update.....
I've aqcuired a Netbook....a USB "dongle" GPS receiver....downloaded SeaClear....downloaded NOAA charts...and then got my software developer Son to put it all together for me.
At first look....it looks pretty decent to me and may very well do the trick. I have to play with it more now to learn the software and how everything works. But at this point....barring something unforeseen...things are looking kinda promising.
Total expenditures so far are approximately $200 for the Netbook ( I got a deal on it...$140.00) and receiver (Approx $50.00). A far cry from going out and buying an actual 10" GPS Chartplotter.
So far so good I'd say...as long as it works as I hope it will. :thumbsup:
