Hi All
I have a Navman 5500 and a Northstar radio on a 06 260 sundancer. I beleive the units were factory installed but are not connected to each other. Anyone ever connect the two?
Thanks
Dino

I have the same boat, but a different plotter. All connected and works well. Be sure it's not a configuration issue in the plotter itself, they should have been connected. Mine came connected but not "configured" to talk. There is a thread on this subject (link below) with various devices that could help you. You will need to hook them up via NMEA if they are not.

260 Dancer thread has some stuff too... http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=414&highlight=ns100+navman

Hi Chuck
Thanks for the reply. I spoke to searay and they said that they do not always connect the gps to the radio with new boats. He does not understand why, but he sees it all the time. He told me I needed a cable to conect the two and tech support from northstar says I just need to connect 2 wires on the units. Thanks again for the help.

For NMEA and the Northstar unit, it is just 2 wires, that simple. The Navman, will also be 2 matched wires, but don't know if they are on the unit or you need a harness. What model is it? There has to be an install guide for it that will spell it all out.

Also, if you are interested, you can connect the SmartCraft blackbox to the Navman to display engine SmartCraft data.

On mine I have a NorthStar GPS (same as a Navman) connected to my NorthStar NS100 VHF via NMEA, and I also added the SmartCraft Gateway between the GPS and the engine.
