Gotta lean...

Get a pump out and fill your water tank... how are you on fuel?

Don't worry about the boat not being level, just change the name to Eileen.

(get it??? Eileen = I Lean. OK, that WAS pretty bad, wasn't it. Time for more coffee)

Every boat lists some; some more than others. For me, it depends on how my fuel is balanced and how full my holding tank is. If it's a real issue, just add fuel to the high side.

Don

I second the water tank filling. My boat has a slight list to starboard if my water tank is empty, its located slightly port of centerline in my boat and filling it up makes the boat perfectly level. Kinda goofy but I would rather have the boat sit level when fully loaded than a surprise when you have everything filled up!

More importantly, maybe, is... has it always done this or has it just started doing it?

I thought that was the one legged waitresses name at the International House Of Pancakes. Or IHOP:grin:

I have had her for just about a month but noticed back in early December, when negotiations began, that she did list towards the starboard side but never entering the exhaust, just shy of that opening. I have replaced all of the bilge pumps (met my medical ins deductible too) and haven't noticed excessive pumping, no more frequent than maybe once an hour. I am going to pump it out, and add some water, the fresh water is empty. Thanks for the inputs

Oh yeah, Eilean ? No way Anita Break, Yes

That's not normal. In fact, that's actually quite fast for pumps to be cycling. Dry the bilge out completely (shop vac, towels, etc) and then grab a cup or two of coffee, a flashlight and maybe a mirror-on-a-stick and sit in the bilge. See if you can see where it's coming in. If you get lucky, you'll find it. The concern isn't just water in bilge, though - it's water getting into the stringers and such (places that have wood).

once an hour is very excessive...once a day would concern me

Let me try and clarify this. I changed the bilge pumps because the forward one wasn't even working the high water was just old and the aft was intermittent therefore my confidence was not in play so I changed them all out. The only one that does come on is the aft and I am going with the rudder seals needing replacement, I don't even think the pump comes on but maybe twice a day and only the aft at that. Sorry about the confusion :smt009.

Yes, for these ole gals the rudders and shafts get old and leak and cause the aft pump to cycle regularly. Jeff, I know you plan on replacing the packing that's a good place to start (and most likely the source) on a seperate note having the AcNheat running will also add condensate which again cycles the pump more frequently. My 340 LISTS to starboard if my holding tank is full and the water tank is empty... just an fyi...

Thanks Jason, I have the mentioned going on ... Heat/ac, holding tank and of course no water. I haven't been able to pump out as the marina is still in the winter mode, but as soon as they open I will be first in line :) I did note the water heater is on the port side and is winterized as well. Maybe I can convince the Admiral to get that generator this year and install it port side this problem will be solved.:smt043
