Been patiently waiting for my 48LED lights to get here.... They made it! Already got the wiring harness all made up ran and powered up. Just need to muster up the courage to drill four holes in my transom. But these for lights on the transom under the water are gonna be awesome!

I will redo mine and add 2 (4 total) the week after Memorial Day. Read through the other posts regarding "underwater lights" and "48LED lights" before you do anything! There;s some good advice on how to drill the holes. I had my mechanic do mine and will have him do the replacement as well. I'm too much of a sissy to drill holes in my boat.

Ron, you get my pics of the switch box I did up for the lights and amps?

OldSkool, I will post pics bot in the water and out when they r installed

My boat is only 7' 6" across the back. How many and what number LED per light would you recommend? I'm thinking 2 -12led lights???

Depends on what type of lights you are getting?

The cheaper 48LED's are bright, but spots, so they don't flood the water with color. My beam is 8'6" and I am doing 4. I did 2 to start and it's just not as bright as I want them.

If you are going to drop the coin and go for the more expensive underwater lighting, then 1 or 2 lights would certainly be sufficient.

Ron,

The way my transom is designed I can put a light on either side facing in towards the lower unit.... Then two on the transom facing aft.... From ur opinion and exp with ur lights. Think that is a good way to mount them? Or all facing aft?

Forrest... I would mount them 2 on each side, spaced as much as possible all facing aft (on mine that's about side-by-side on each side - remember, the holes you drill have to get through to the engine comartment - my mechaninc did mine as I'm too chicken to drill holes in my boat).

Just my $.02 though.

Cool thanks. Yeah I think I will do all 4 facing aft. Put one on either side of the drive up high just below the water line. And 2 down lower near the bottom of the transom on either side a little wider then the upper lights. Or do u think I should switch that? Lower ones on either side of drive and upper ones wider out on the sides?

Not sure that it matters. Persoanally I would keep them all in line just below the waterline for max brightness and a nice even light across the transom.
