I have recently started reading novels again (aside from the boating magazines)...I like those with a little mystery....little suspense.......little T&A ;-) and if you throw in a little boating/sailing it is even better. I've read every Stuart Woods and James Patterson book out there and a few S. King...I want to move onto a different author and I'm looking for suggestions...

In this months BoatU.S. there are some books I might try in the "Book Locker"...

Along the lines you describe, try Ken Follet, anything by Jack Higgins, and the old Travis McGee series by John D. MacDonald. If you like stuff with a military flavor, I recommend Stephen Coonts and WEB Griffin. Bob Morris' Bahamarama is a good read, although I've never found anything else by him.

There was quite a lengthy thread here in the holding tank (maybe started by bill&amy?) that had a lot of good recommendations as well.

Good luck!

There was an excellent thread on this that many people participated in, and had some great suggestions.

Since I do not intend to start anymore threads or participate in many threads here anymore, might as well point out some existing that were full of useful (at least imo) information, even if it had nothing to do with boating.

What's up with that?

Though you rubbed me wrong when you first joined (took me a few posts to get you) I have found you to be one of the wittiest, funniest, though provoking and brightest folks on here and strangely consider you a friend. Hope you change your mind.

I agree wholeheartedly with mrsrobinson. (well, except that you never rubbed me wrong.)

I too will miss your contributions. I sincerely hope you'll reconsider.

I forgot to mention a really cool boating book. It's a novel about a guy on a snailbote but there is a lot of boating. It's called "The Shipkiller" by Justin Scott. It's out of print but can be found in used bookstores and from Amazon. I bought a really nice library edition of it from them. I have read this book about 8 times.
