C'mon man, you know the rules. Without photos to prove it, it didn't happen!
The boats not in yet.lol. (In the middle) 56 years old, married 23 years and couldn’t be happier!

I had a feeling we would be spending more time at the dock..at least the beginning of the season. So I moved slips to get closer to shore and brought down the grill from the condo. They put a boat right beside me (arrow) on the hard and blocked my view of the marina....so now I am motivated to get in the water.... just need temps above 50....what a crappy spring

Great minds think alike. I moved from my "locked in" 35' (tired of my 37' sticking out), to this 40' with a great view. Zoom in and you can see the Sears Tower in the distance....

Amazing how moving a few docks makes it seem like a whole new marina!

Any one who is against this lockdown does not under stand science and doesn't give a hoot about fellow human beings.
So then I would assume you wanna lockdown for all the other things that kill us yearly too, right? Slippery slope when you make Covid deaths more important than the other types of deaths.

You are correct blue. I'm done here...It's boating season now

Looks like some social distancing on the water is in order for this weekend. :)

I like science too but you brought up “red states” in your original post. Hence why I went political.

Now tell me how wearing a mask is science? (Not talking about fitted N95’s that nurses/docs wear)

How is it science that I can walk into a party store, Home Depot, Target, Kroger, etc and be next to others but west marine, restaurants, small businesses, etc are closed?

Please explain how our gov locked us down for 6 weeks but is now easing the lockdown even though our numbers have been roughly the same for 2-3 weeks. She claims to use nothing but science, data and facts. If that’s true then she should keep the lockdown. You know why, cause they’re NOT using science or facts just a political agenda.

Happy Boating to you!

Just from watching the news, it seems to me your Governor is in way over her head.
Here in NY, first suburban County outside NYC, it is similarly ridiculous.
Our Comrade shut down the state, but left the NYC subways open until last night when he shut them down for four hours every night going forward for cleaning. He should have shut them down for cleaning on day one. Ridership is down 92% anyway.
Home Depot, Walmart, Supermarkets, Target, Banks, have all been open since day one. But all of the little local guys are being squeezed out of business. I’m starting to think it’s intentional in Blue States.
I waited half an half hour to get in to Home Depot Saturday to pick up a Sprinkler Head. There is an independent place that sells them 5 minutes from my house, but he’s shut down.
The Post Office is open, but the local Village and Town Halls are closed. Doesn’t make sense.
If I can stand online at Home Depot and the Post Office with 6 feet between me and the next guy, while wearing a mask, why can’t I do it at some other places?
It’s understandable if someone doesn’t want to venture out, but nobody is forcing anyone out of their homes at gunpoint.
Judging by local traffic, I would say that people were mostly staying inside for about the first 2-3 weeks, but it’s been pretty normal since then. Maybe a little lighter than usual on a rainy day.
People for the most part are doing the social distancing and wearing masks in public places as far as I can see. While it probably makes sense for some offices and retail locations to stay closed until they figure out a social distancing plan, why have a blanket lockdown policy? Especially on a statewide basis.

I can see my effort to get it back on track is in vain.

I'll try one more time ...

Going down to wash the boat for this weekend! Woohoo!
I got this weekend off from the boat.... mostly because of the weather and a little bit because of the evil eye I got from my wife being mothers day.... I am sticking with the weather excuse though :)

We are headed to the Delta for a few days to tune out of this Covid crap and raft up with some close Freinds, two on each boat. We live in a county that so far has tested 5200 people, 360 confirmed cases, 100 of those in one city at a retirement community, only 15 in hospital and only 60 were ever hospitalized since this began with 6 dead not confirmed of Covid, just with.
First time out of the Marina since February 15th! We feel fortunate to reside outside of a hot spot and completely empathize with you all that live in areas of high exposure, everyone has to do what they can to stay safe and Sane!
Carpe Diem everyone!

My storage building is finally letting us in this weekend. My wife's mothers day present is helping clean! 12 days to go...

You and the blue state leaders can stay locked down in your house until you feel safe. The rest of us will start living our lives again. Don’t tell me how to live and I won’t tell you.

that approach would be a great idea but sadly it does not work that way since you do not take only chances for yourself but also for innocent other people spreading this virus . you of course cannot take chances for other people with your personal way of live so ( i hate it as much as you ) lockdowns had to be introduced.

btw : in germany boating is allowed with people of your own household .

Here are our rules at the marina where I am.

Town will open three waterfront areas for passive self-exercise beginning Saturday, May 2. This will allow our residents to enjoy these facilities, get outdoors and exercise in the fresh air while protecting themselves and others from the spread of COVID-19.

The three location are:

  • West Meadow
  • Cedar in Mt. Sinai
  • Corey in Blue Point
It is important to note that the Town is NOT opening the beach at these locations. Prohibited items and activities include chairs, umbrellas, blankets, coolers, fishing, congregating and any sporting activity. Dogs are also not allowed at these locations and no lifeguards will be on duty.

Residents will be allowed to walk, hike, jog, etc. at these facilities as long as they maintain social distancing. Masks are recommended. Parking will be limited to 50% of capacity. Code enforcement and parks staff will be on hand to maintain parking limits and patrol these areas to ensure that people are social distancing and following all rules.

In keeping with the New York State public health order during the COVID-19 pandemic, these areas will be open for passive use only with the following protocols in place:

  • Passive use only, such as walking, jogging or hiking.
  • No congregating, or participating in sports activities, and no use of playgrounds equipment.
  • Do not shake hands or engage in any unnecessary physical contact.
  • No fishing, swimming, blankets, coolers, umbrellas or beach chairs.
  • Always maintain social distancing of a minimum of six feet.
  • Wear the recommended face covering when in the parks where social distancing cannot be followed.
  • Do not enter the Parks if you have a cough or fever.
  • Restrooms are closed.
  • Please limit your stay to allow other residents to enjoy the Town facilities.
  • Parking lots will be closed once 50% capacity. As cars leave, others will be allowed in.

Just what I wanted in a post. CNN and Fox News.
Take it someplace other than here.
We all have opinions about the #%*_$& virus However why bring it here. If you want to go out on the boat do it. If you want to stay home do it.

I for one have done my part on being conscious of the whole situation as has everyone else in the US. We all just have levels and threshold and we all live our life’s in different ways.

Since March I have been at the boat a total of 45 days on and off and will be going tomorrow for five days.
I am glad to see people getting out and clearing there heads. We all need a break from the news and people telling us what to do and how to do it.
our families also need a break for our homes. Our boats bring us many many ways of enjoyment. we should use them!

Without doubt things are different and will be for a long time.... just Adjust and adapt your lifestyle.

just because we are using our boats doesn’t mean we’re irresponsible!

Our lake and Marina has many restrictions however we have all just adapted to it Marina has many restrictions however we have all just adapted to it. it is what it is.

we have to get back to what makes us happy and gives us Drive and desire for life!
It is the rewards that we give ourselves that drive this country to be the best!

Sorry for the rant.
There our forms on this site to take your arguments your politics and your opinions.

How this post got off track is a great example of the level of frustration with everyone.

We all need a break!!! So take one!!!

This is what I did today!

@Joint Custody ... You know you just got sucked into the off track world?

Its really hard not to... This thread started off on the edge.... I guess we cant help ourselves yet, but lets keep trying

If u stayed locked down u do not have to worry about the ones that want to get out and about.
