Hello all!
Santa got me a Garmin EchoMap 74sv combo and I'm planning to install the transducer with a glue-on mounting plate to avoid drilling into the hull. I'd also like to epoxy the cable holders, if that's possible. Has anyone successfully done so? Or do I need to bite the bullet and screw the cable holders in? I think I'll only need a couple of feet of cable exposed before it comes into the aft, safely above the water line.

Thanks!

When I mounted my transducer, I bought the SternMate kit. When I epoxied the SternMate to the hull I used a drop of epoxy on the transducer cable holder and it has held up for a year.

Similar story, picked one up at the boat show. Not sure I want to add anything to the transom. Is there a way to use a through hull transducer?

Excellent - that is what I'm planning to use as well. Thanks!
