I've been having new upholstery and mechanicals refitted on my Gambler 206SS; I know, not a Sea Ray (I do own a SR however) but there is a lot of experience and expertise here so thought I would pose the question. The carpet is being replaced which is glue-down and I would like a quality 20oz or 24oz rubber back product. I would prefer a loop but would consider cut pile. There is Corinthian, Shaw and certainty others. It needs to be a true marine UV and water repellant product. What are your recommendations / experiences?

It was a long time ago but I used Overtons. If I recall they had several choices in quality levels. Quite a few color choices. They sent me samples for free. I was pleased with the price and results.

Looks like Overtons has changed; I received samples and seems they are of a lower quality/weight. About like the stuff at Home Depot.
As soon as we get through this storm I'll probably order from Corinthian; They seem go be of a very high quality.
Thanks, Tom

Tom,

I did some work for the owner of Corinthian a couple of years ago. They are a lot more than a boat carpet company. They have a second factory in Macon Ga where they make roll goods as well as OEM floor mats for VW, Audi, Porsche and others. They are vertical........start with yarn and end up with finished carpeting so they are uniquely equipped to design carpeting for rugged applications. I worked directly with the owner and thoroughly enjoyed the association. They are a first class, family owned/operated company. You won't go wrong with them.

Just be sure you talk thru your application and explore their higher end carpeting. Gluing down carpeting in a boat is a big enough job so it is worth using the best carpeting you can find.

Corinthian is the product that I have and so far we love it. I oredered mine through a vendor on this site (fellow Sea Ray owner) and his customer service was excellent.
