Just took ownership of a SR 2007 40MY. One part of the experience is watching football games at anchor. Turning on Glomex and performing a channel scan on a 2 year old Vizeo I get 14 channels. None of them actually display a picture, however. Instead all I get is "Retrieving Data"on all channels. I left one "retrieving data" on for 30 minutes and no joy. I'd love to ask someone at Glomex but it being an Italian company, there's no local Tech support line. Anyone out there with similar experience to this? I Haven't tried adjusting the gain to see if it helps, but the channels did get fetched by the TV's channel scan so I assume i have enough signal strength in Chattanooga. The FB season's short so I want to solve this puzzle. Thanks in advance.

I'll take a stab. Does your setup require a converter box? I don't know what signals are broadcast over the air. My old system requires such a box and I get 10 -12 stations. Not all Emmie winners but at least the majors and the locals.

Sorry if if this does not apply.

I believe the Glomex is simply an antenna and signal amplifier.
It is not a decoder or converter.
Sounds to me like the antenna amplifier is not turned on or the television is not getting the antenna's signal or not scanning the right input.
Check all of the antenna connections.
The Glomex system on my boat receives over sixty HD channels in our area.

I had two issues with mine. One, the coax connection at the antenna was poor. So I had to take the antenna off and redo the cable connection. Second, I was turning the Amplifier gain up but it wasn't until I turned the gain way down, and rescanned tv, did I get the 50-60 channels... I know the gain setting was the issue because I rescanned after connection at antenna was done and still only had 3-4 channels...

The cable connection at the antenna is a known issue with SR. As stated above, the other thing is to play with the gain control. We boat mainly on Lake Lanier near Atlanta and I always have to turn my gain control wide open. We get many more channels on the southern end of the lake as we are nearer Atlanta.

Your other option, and one that we use a lot, is to stream using the Watch ESPN app and using my phone as a hot spot along with Apple TV.

BTW...Imtra Marine Products is the US rep for Glomex. My gain control crapped out and there is a lifetime warranty on them. I called them up, got a return authorization, and they sent me a brand new one. You might call and talk with them.

How did you do that and do you have any pix. Mine got torn up or dried out when she was on the hard for three years not being repaired. Would I be better off pulling a new cable and if so, how hard is that? I have a cable connection in the rear cabin and mid ships just forward of the galley. Standard 330 setup. I would like to add a cable/12VDC hookup in the arch for fall weekends on the hook.

TIA

Max, since our boats were made at the same time/place you might have the same problem I had. In order to use the internal coax for distribution of Sat TV signals, the installer cut the line from the antenna. The cut on mine was in the small locker to the right of the helm. The installer then ran KVH output through the Glomex amplifier which sent it out to the remote TVs. There was no need for this as there is no reason you can't have both signals. I spliced the cable back together then re-ran the coax so that antenna signals came through the Glomex then to "antenna in" on the KVH box. Then the signals go back to the 'cable in" on the Glomex and from there out to the remote TVs. The KVH box is designed to pass the external antenna signal through if it is turned off.

Thanks AL and others who have replied. After much sweat and unique phrases I've never heard come out of my mouth I determined the comcast cable box (new one) was doa. I packed it up drove to the comcast facility for a new one, replaced it an got all 5 tv's to show the comcast channels being played on the unit. Turning the glomex on disengages the dock cable (there goes the modem) and I got good over the air TV but on just the salon. That's good enough for now, there 's a custom spaghetti mess behind the media center so I'll figure that out some day. Good news is we motored up and down the TN river, went through locks and all mechanics are good. Now I have to figure out why the Clarion no longer sends an output to speakers, why the signal horn air compressor is dead and the starboard transom underwater light won't light. Once all those are done the boat is back to new. I love the boat though. Our guests are very comfortable on her. I'll write another post on what I find out with the signal horn air unit.

Check the switches on the right on your way down the stairs from the cockpit. This controls the Clarion output to the cockpit and salon.
