2. Do you agree or disagree that Homeland Security should have to seek out a warrant in federal court in order to perform search and seizure on an American citizen suspected of being involved in terrorism?

I agreed with that because of the broad wording of "suspected of being involved in terrorism." Other than that...

"You DISAGREED with the Barack Obama position on 46 of the 47 test questions. This means you disagree with the Obama position 98% of the time."
... and damn proud of that, too, I might add.

Best regards,

Exactally the same for me......

Our brilliant civic leaders put a non-binding resolution on a ballot for the Democratic Party local elections regarding our then, proposed new airport. The question was, "Do you think we should build a new airport in the West Bay area at no expense to the taxpayers?"

Problems:
1) One party's local ballot
2) The question itself has 2 parts
a) Should we build a new airport in West Bay
b) Should it be at no expense to taxpayers (local company donating land...)

Our local, back woods tv stations actually give the results credibility to this day - 2 years down the road.

As a registered independent (meaning neither for nor against either candidate reflexively by way of voter registration) and someone who conducts and interprets market research for a living, I have to say that that survey is very poorly worded and is stacked with loaded questions. Which is fine if you want to convince people not to vote for Obama, but not particularly valid for any other purpose.

Fire away.

I agree guys. These questions are slanted and moronic.

Here's an example:
"Do you agree or disagree that abortion destroys a human life and is manslaughter?"
The "and" joins the two and if you agree with one but not the other, but if you're forced to answer to continue, it tilts the questionaire and molds this the direction of the "site's" intent.

BOGUS.

I'm a McCain guy already and agree with Hampton, that if a questionaire were worded as this regarding McCain, results can be similar based on the twisted questioning.

The questions were not devised by the web site builder or the book's author, Bradley O'Leary, they are actual poll questions. Each answer lists the poll from which the question was sourced. For example, the one that Todd listed above indicates "(Source: Associated Television News / Zogby America Poll of 1,005 likely voters conducted 7/9/08 through 7/14/08. Margin of Error +/- 3.2 percentage points)"

Don't think that the "and" makes any difference in that particular question. I see little difference between "Do you agree or disagree that abortion destroys a human life?" and "Do you agree or disagree that abortion is manslaughter?" I would suppose that the pro-abortion crowd would be just as likely to say "disagree" to both questions as I would say "agree." Don't see how one could agree with the first (or second) and disagree with the other.

Best regards,
Frank

PS
I got run off the BOAT/US forum for pointing out wording and logical flaws in a survey they were taking.

You DISAGREED with the Barack Obama position on 37 of the 47 test questions. This means you disagree with the Obama position 79% of the time.

I disagreed with the Obama position 77% of the time...

One of the questions lumped nuclear power in with fossil fuels. Although Nuclear Power currently accounts for about 20% of electric generation in the U.S., that number will soon be increasing starting in 2010 when ground breaking will start on the new generation of reactors. Know Nukes!

Yeah, but I can say I agree that it ends a human life then disagree it's Manslaughter.....anyway, This stuff with politics and religion in an online boating forum is futile.

I guess that makes sense. Since it's premeditated, it should be first degree murder. Good point. Thanks!

Yeah, that could be true if the law was different.

You DISAGREED with the Barack Obama position on 43 of the 47 test questions. This means you disagree with the Obama position 91% of the time.

However, this as many surveys/polls ask questions in ways that are not independent. Also, there were several that I wanted to obstain because no answer reflected my opinion but no answer was not an option.

Yeah, that could be true if the law was different.

Actually, there is no law. A court decision is not a law. Laws can only be passed by the legislature.

Frank

I think you got my point though. Let's get back to boating.
Again, on most Boating forums there is no shortage of opinions. We can ask what motor oil should I use and get as many answers as there are members.
Politics and religion are perfect subjects to avoid trying to iron out here. The polls or these questionaires are interesting to see what people are thinking, but to change people's minds on this forum is only possible with motor oil, brands of wax and GPS models, not beliefs on Politicians, Politics or Religion.

You can't even change people's mind about motor oil. There's always some guy who asks, "Can I use xyzzy synthetic?" Then someone else shows him Mercury's oil FAQ that formerly said "No synthetics." So the first guy says, "Well xyzzy says it's OK for marine and Volvo uses synthetic in their GM based marine engines, so it must be OK."

At which point I usually think, "So why did you ask in the first place, *******?"

Best regards,
Frank C

I entered it as *******. Use your imagination.

Well that's true too, but you see what I mean.

Yeah. Where's my big stick?
