Gilligan!!!!!!!

WTF??? I have NEVER seen that and I thought I'd seen EVERY episode of Gilligan's Island 500 times! It always bothered me that the boat pictured when "the weather started getting rough" was CLEARLY NOT the same Minnow as the opening sequence or the beached boat with the big hole in the hull. And what's with the lame calypso music?

GREAT FIND!!!

BTW, I think we now can settle the age-old question of who's hotter - Maryanne or Ginger. It's the blonde in the pilot hands down.

Watch the pilot and wait for the scene where they're washing clothes - racy for 1965 standards. No wonder the versions we saw were toned down by Sherwood Schwartz and the censorship panel.

One of original Minnows is preserved in a local market here in the Cincinnati area. I'll get a photo next time I make a hot sauce run... (Jungle Jim's is the only place I have found that carries Marie Sharpp's Habenero sauce from Belize:thumbsup: freakin' awesome hot sauce)

Yeah, but in the series, it's Mary Anne! ;) That is a great find! I'd never seen that pilot! It's interesting that the first show has many of the clips from it.

I thought it was really interesting that not only did they change actors, but they changed the Skipper's personality somewhat - in the pilot he was always saying, "Now hear this . . ." I didn't hear that too much in the series.

Just found this link. Interesting info here:

And here's a trivia question for you - Anyone know the "unofficial" first name of Gilligan agreed to by Bob Denver and Sherwood Schwartz?

Willie Gilligan!

I thought HINs were not used til the mid or late 70s. ALso, it appears that the Minnow on the beach (not the prop built by CBS but the one towed in) had a single screw.

Here's some good "name" trivia from a pretty reliable source...

I had a solid red Go-fast boat years ago and I used to frequently blame Gilligin for never telling me how hot a red boat gets. I could not even step out on the foreward deck of the cuddy without burning my feet. Gilligin and the Skipper got all the blame for not giving me proper boating 101 as child.
