Hopefully someone can share some advice.
2000, 510 Sundancer with a GHS platform lift.

Until yesterday it was working fine. When we put it done yesterday the port side locking plate didn't release all the way and it caught the "stud" it locks to as it was going down. A sort of nasty noise to hear. We dropped the dinghy in and put it back up and it ran into the lock plate, but it did go past it and close. (It bumped into it and pushed it up, but it was another God awful scraping sound. LOL)

For some reason the port side isn't releasing all the way open when the up/down buttons are pushed. The reservoir is full per specifications and nothing is out of ordinary in the engine room at the pump itself.

Any thoughts or advice? Maybe the lock plate is just going bad?? (Letter H is the lock plate)
Have a great Memorial weekend everyone!!

Replaced mine a few seasons ago as they wouldn’t fully retract. Sometimes the piston shaft gets fouled with paint and jams up. Even cleaning didn’t fix mine. Easy to replace even in the water I believe. Ordered replacement from GHS.

Do you an oil sheen on the water? Mine has a lock cylinder separate from the lift. Wondering if your problem is the lock cylinder.

No oil sheen.
The locking plate is mounted to the transom bracket and is visible when operational after the platform moves outward. It looks like a pretty simple fix...I hope!!!
I shall wait to see what GHS has to say Tuesday.

Good question @FootballFan - that would be Item "C" in your diagram above...

Correct, I am sure it is the cylinder that moves the lock plate.
It is above the water line so I would think I can replace it without a haul out. Hoping anyways.

Yes, it is above the water line, question is if someone is willing to work on it while in the water.

One thought, if you have not replaced the hoses for the platform in a while, would be a good time to do that.

I’m not exactly sure how to do it, but it doesn’t look too difficult. Some guidance from GHS will decide how we proceed. Luckily my good friend is my hauler and mechanic. If it comes to that I can get it done as quick as I can get the part.

We purchased the boat last August 19th and only got to run it for a month before haul out. It would appear the hoses are older.

I had a complete rebuild of my GHS platform external components last fall. Had one lift cylinder which had a seal failure. After conversations decided to replace everything external to the boat (except the actual lift arms) with new parts. 2 Lift cylinders, 2 lock cylinders, and all hoses.

Granted the guy doing the work knew what he was doing, really good with GHS. Did a short haul. After the boat was out of the water took him 3 or 4 hours and it was ready to go.

I think the recommendation from GHS is the hoses should be replaced fairly frequently (forgot the timeframe). I knew in the 5 or 6 years I have owned the boat I have not any work done on the platform. So decided to do some pre-emptive replacement.
