Genny runs but no power to the panel.......

My Sea Ray's Westerbeke is running decently despite its 3,000 hours.

Recently, I fired it up, switched over from shore power to genny...........and nothing happened. No juice from the genny to the meters on the panel.

I checked the switch on the generator itself and it is and remains in the on position - not that anyone had any reason to move it. Beyond that, I am not sure what to check.

Is there something simple I am overlooking?

I had the same symptoms, my problem was the capacitor. It wasn't a particularly difficult repair....other than the contortions required of the human body.
