Oh man, I'd trade my vacuflush for a gen. Looks good to me. Now how do I go about the install myself... :smt017

Doing the mounting and plumbing is fairly easy. Wiring it correctly is more complicated. Tow on down to Atlanta and we'll get you hooked up.

In the pricing there were a few things missed like the $800ish in exhaust, wire, switches.....etc
So the generator is actually around 6K-6.5K with all the needed parts?

Please excuse the blatant plug for me. I sell the genny all day at $4995.00 you'll need a waterlift muffler for about 150, about 6ft of 2" corrugated hose at 60. 20ft of 14/2 and 14/3, 20ft of 10/3. fuel hose, fuel pick up, water separator filter, misc fittings, transfer switch, heat shrink connectors, wire ties, wire/hose P clamps, misc screws and lag bolt.
The complete install takes me 16-20hrs depending on what boat I'm working on.

Did they send you a statement? The Westerbeke is about 5500 so they charged you about 40 hours of labor? (40hrs x 85.00=3,400) Not saying it wasn't ...but just curious. I know they want over 10-12K MSRP at Sea Ray for a generator option. Crazy!! Oh... and keep the pictures coming. :smt038

No I didn't get a statement, I was quoted for 9360 but it was reduced to 9k because the service manager said it was between 7-9k installed.

Just to let everyone know this generator is westerbeke 3kw, all I know is that I am loving it being able to go down in the cabin and cool off especially in Miami. I was out all day on Sunday from 10-6.

That 10-6 sounds like a great boating day to me

I know this is an older post - I have an 08 240 DA without the vacuflush. Very interested in doing this upgrade. Me dealer feels this will add too much weight to the starboard side of the boat. Have you experienced any problems or do you just compensate by triming out the difference with the tabs? Also - has the affected your planing or top speed at all? Thanks.

To comment on the weight on the starboard side, no, I do not notice a thing. I have the same boat with the same set up and rarely notice any weight shift. For me, it is the perfect set up.
