generator

If you want a boat with a generator buy one with a generator installed. I did just that and the only cost was diligence looking for one with it.

If you wanted a boat with a place to sleep would you buy one that did not have a place to sleep and expect to add it? And if you got a smoking deal on a boat without a generator and want one, just pay the piper and put the correct type in...

MM

I agree, and installing the correct type is the only way to go.

Actually it is quiet, and can give more then 900 watts.

It doesn't stink that much also, just have to use the mix.

It's very light and did i mention cheap, with the coupon like 70 bucks.

If you wanted to use it on the platform to charge the batteries, watch tv whatever.

Bloody Hell, you geysers it must be winter over there!

Of course with sunshine, we don't even need solar panels!, mount a slab of stainless on the back, give it 5 minutes of sunlight, chuck a steak on, well done in 5.

Esky with ice for the beer, fridge doesn't get it cold enough!

Air con, stuff that, have another beer from the esky!

Enjoy your winter!

I think a lot has to do with money. I still cannot understand why a 5.5kW RV generator (Kohler) costs $4,000 and a 5kW marine generator (W'beke) costs $9500. Both are factory direct prices.

The marine generator integrates into the marine environment, seamlessly, compared to how the RV would. The water premise is that you've got the sea water passing and exiting, again unlike the RV system.

Kohler Marine 5 EKCD costs around 7000-8000 - and the increased cost is as said - water cooling system (Heat Exchanger etc) and marine electronics and cables. But I do wish Honda would make a 5-8 kW Marine Generator. At least they work every time...

I don't know how all that stuff works so I'll take your knowledges as superior to mine.

I can only assume the basics have not changed. Technology, yes. Powered items, yes. Basic electricity, no.

Considering the parts markup, I have to wonder what the markup is on a marine generator as a whole?

Yes i I did write the painfully large check.
