Welcome.
A lot on this site about Generators. Try the search feature. there is an excellent video on it.
The bed cover may be found on e-bay or FP marine? However, just like the genny, They're not cheap
Where in NY? It's a big state

A Sea Ray dealer will charge about $11,000 for this installation including labor, the generator and all other needed parts. You may be able to find qualified installers for about $9,000 total in this economy.

When I was doing my shopping, the actual generator cost between the Westerbeke 3.0 kw and the Kohler 5.0 kw was minor.

Since your boat is larger then mine you may want to go to the 5.0 kw generator. Since you are close to salt water you may want to add fresh water cooling. Also, consider a low CO model. These will add to the cost of the generator and installation. The standard Kohler 5.0 is not a low CO model and raw water cooled. The Westerbeke 3.0 does have a catalyst.

If you have not been shopping already the above pricing is shocking, at least it was to me. If you still wish to go forward make sure you are the type of boater that really needs one.

The addition of the generator adds very little to the sell price of the boat. It may add some to the sell price, it may help it sell faster but most of the cost is simply to increase your boating enjoyment if you are the type that likes to anchor out away from shore power frequently. Actually, that is the case for pretty much all aftermarket items you add to a boat. Your sell price increases by pennies on the dollar invested.

That being said, I’m very glad we added the generator. To us, it made the overnights comfortable with air conditioning, in the morning I can brew my coffee, we can use the microwave, charge the various electronics like the I-touch, laptops, etc.
