Hello all,
I have a Kohler 5EKD generator with about 100 hours on it. Last year I notice a crack in the fuel pump where the raw water goes into it. The generator ran fine other than dripping salt water into the bilge and making a mess.
I have replace the fuel pump with a brand new out of box unit. Par number match exact.
Tried to run it today and it will crank, but not start.
Is there something other than priming that needs to be done when you replace the fuel pump?
Below is a picture of the old fuel pump showing the crack in the lower part of the unit ad the rust it made.
