Hello all,

I have a Kohler 5EKD generator with about 100 hours on it. Last year I notice a crack in the fuel pump where the raw water goes into it. The generator ran fine other than dripping salt water into the bilge and making a mess.
I have replace the fuel pump with a brand new out of box unit. Par number match exact.
Tried to run it today and it will crank, but not start.
Is there something other than priming that needs to be done when you replace the fuel pump?
Below is a picture of the old fuel pump showing the crack in the lower part of the unit ad the rust it made.

For the life of me why do you need to cool a fuel pump with raw water! The cost to own and operate a Kohler generator is ridiculous. Sorry I wish I could be of more help.

Does anyone know how I can pull and clean the injectors on a 5ekd?
Where are the injectors located? Not shown on the operators manual.
I have tried new plugs. STill wont start. Cranks fine..

Thanks!
