Generator Issue

I have a 2001 Sundancer. My issues is the Westerbeke Gen. It starts fine, runs fine, but will sometimes just shut down sounding the alarm. It restarts immediately and may run for hours, or may shut down again in 30 minutes. I've checked fluid levels, new impellor this season?

do you turn off the switch before you start it back up? if you do ther are 3 sensors, overspeed-low oil press-low water flow if you turn off the switch it reset them. nine out of ten times it's the overspeed sensor there is a way to over ride it but not sure how. i know on my 7.0 it was $245.00 for that part. mine did the same thing once or twice but hasn't done it lately. check your water flow real good.

I had similar on my Onan genny once. It turned out to be a corroded connector on the water temp sensor. Once I cleaned the contacts, the problem went away.
