I have a 2012 450 Sundancer with twin Cummins 380 diesels. My mercruiser vessel view display module at the helm indicates 282 hours on the generator while the display on the actual generator shows 326 hours? I thought these should read the same. Is this common? Is it due to running the generator without the engine ignition switches on if not how do I calibrate them?

The vessel view display is the actual time, the hour meter in the genny is when it’s in, like if it’s not running but the switch is on to start….. like your boat engines. When you flip the switch, the clock starts moving on the gauge, but not on the computer. If that makes any sense… lol

I never knew this... Really? Your boat hours meter will run even when the engines arent on? So if you leave your key in the on position on the hook your hour meter keeps ticking?

Assume this only applies to the generator correct and not the engine package also?
