Does anyone know of a qualified technician to do gel-coat repair in Seattle? I just received an estimate for $6600 at a local facility.

thanks

Well... we all want to see pictures of what $6600.00 of fiberglass damage looks like and the story first.

Well....ahhh...this being my first boat all, my helm control has been a bit on the braille side at times.

We do have a number of gouges, tatoos, and the like but I would have never guessed that it was going to cost so much to get this fixed.

Ollies in Lynnwood. They are great. Not sure if it's going to be a better price or not. Sounds like a tremendous amount of damage for $6600 bones.

My local Marine Max quoted $95 an hour. Most small gouges and scrapes I would imagine could be repaired in a couple of hours. $6600 sounds like there has to be more to the story. Post some pic's of the damage.

We just had some repair done. Looked like someone keyed our boat, if that makes sense. It looks so awesome now. Can't tell you off hand the break down for that piece of work, we had a lot done at the same time. But I don't think it was too much. Stay far, far, FAR away from Marine Max!!! I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with them in Phoenix and Colorado. STAY AWAY!!!
Instead, call SeaView boat yard in Seattle at Shilshole Marina. They were good to us and nice guys. They may not be the cheapest, but let me tell you, you'll never know you had repair done. They do it right for a good price, not cheaply done for a cheap price. They often have specials too, ask about the current one. Tell Tom or Howard the owners of "Ruff" Life sent you.
Good Luck!!!:smt038
