Do you have pictures?

Not the thick and thin but I had the crazing cracks around the transom area and the back seat. I was still under warranty so they fixed it in about 3 days. Good luck

It might help if you understood the way the boats are made, and the 240SD transom cracks isn't a parallel.

The hull is laid up in the molds then pulled from the molds and assembled. The bilge gelcoat is different than the exterior gelcoat and has a waxy surface. It is completely cosmetic and is put there to give you a finish that repels water and oil. Some areas are sprayed, others are painted on with a brush. So, whatever is going on, isn't a serious problem as far as safety or durability is concerned.

If you have wide spread cracking ("threwout") it may indicate a problem with the bond or chemistry and should be discussed with your dealer. Since it is cosmetic, it isn't likely that the dealer is going to voluntarily repair anything since your warranty has expired and cosmetic items are not covered by your sturctural warranty. The dealer is, however, your ally and where you must start in getting Sea Ray to contribute to a fix.

Good luck with it................

Well, that isn't good.........

If the cracking is in your bilge sumps, then you need to get your dealer involved and persue a repair. There are ways to get Sea Ray interested in helping so let us knopw how you come out with the dealer.

No Frank , there is always a small amount of water in the bilge , but level never rises any more than normal....sump rarley turns on , like you said im sure its cosmedic , just fustrating when you pay good money.
Thanx. Tom

Greetings,

I have a 2005 340 and have the same issue. I talked with Searay Customer service and they told me that it was cosmetics and they will not do anything about it. It does look ugly, however.

Try using an epoxy paint in the bilge. If cracks appear after use
you may want to get it to dealer as it would indicate strucural movement. If no cracking appears it was a cosmetic problem.
