Gauge Question

2006 340 speedometer not working at all and tachometer working intermittently. Are they driven by sensors and if so, where are they?

A 2006 Merc. will most likely be a version of Smart Craft digital engine J1939 CAN bus, as are the gauges. The connectors are a water tight Deutsch connectors.
