Gas Siphon Pump

I finally got the right dinghy and motor for my use, and was wondering if anyone out there is siphoning gas out of there onboard tank instead of bringing a small tank (storage is critical on my boat). If so, what king of siphon are you using. Or can it be done? Is there a screen in the fill line that prevents inserting a hose into the tank. Yes it is a 4-stroke so no mixing is required.
