I finished with my Winterizing the boat. I filled gas tanks added Gas stabilizer as normal. Now I have a large stain at the Gas overflow. I did take a 1/2 hour ride before pulling. Now what?

Tank Full!! Mine will spit at me when I fill to the top I hate it.

Years ago my friend topped off his 30 sundancer at a gas station before blocking it in his driveway. One warm day in the spring, the fuel leaked out of his vents and then down to his boot stripes and melted them.

I would think that a 1/2 hour drive would burn off enough fuel to prevent that. I am guessing that the angle of your boat is causing the tank to over flow. Your choices are to change the angle of your boat or siphon some fuel out.

John,

For the future, if your gauge is accurate fill her with couple of gallons less than full. Even if she's got 5 or so gallons less than full there's minimum room for condensation build up so you sould be fine.

As part of my routine after filling her up with StaBill and fuel I also perform WOT test (I like to see the good numbers when she's loaded, not when she's light) followed by a short cruise and finally idling for 20 min. This my personal method to do all the testing and to allow the StaBill to work its way thru the system at all RPM ranges. I don't fug the engines or the genny.

The thing is that is been siting in my driveway for a month, but it did get warm for a couple of days a week ago. The Bow is much lower in my driveway. The size of the stain is 2inchs like it Shot out.
Well it goes to the Marina on Sunday for the big "Winter Nap" and its level there.

John - just for good measure, follow the vent line from the tank and verify there are no "dips" in the line. You always want that vent line to gravity drain back into the tank. Otherwise it can cause problems. If you see any low spots, just adjust the line as needed.

For boats with single tanks - keep the tank side in the shade (or away from the normal angle of the sun) when storing. Usually this happens in spring with a quick warm up.
