Any one using this product??

Heard from a boater in our marina that

Ethenol makes up about 10% of most all gasoline now.

And...the Ethenol sits in bottom or tank and absorbs moisture.

This ADDITIVE is supposed to keep Ethenol from making trouble:

In a nut shell, yes use it...Lot's of it! You can't over medicate with this stuff, It prevents phaze seperation in the fuel. I put it in every tank of gas unless I am going on vacation with the boat and burning lot's of gas quickly.

I use it, personally, year round. We sell a lot of it, too. Stabil has their own version - but it's a little more costly per gallon.

Ethanol won't sink to the bottom by itself. But, it can attract moisture (hydroscopic). When water molecules "stick" to the ethanol molecules, the combo becomes heavier. At that point, it will sink to the bottom. Just a little FYI! :smt001

I buy fuel from a marina that adds Valvtect - then I add Stabil for Ethanol when I winterize.

Im at 1/2 tank now on each tank..gas has been in the tanks over a month, tomorrow i plan on filling up....should i add what the marina sells for this purpose...?
and /or should i wait till i'm down to 1/4 in each tank...

I used it on my gas boats and I use Startron for diesel now, with every fill up and for winterization. It not only helps with moisture and ethanol but will help to keep your injectyors clean as well. Buy a bottle before filling up this week and dose it for the total amount of fuel that will be in the tanks when you're done adding fuel, not just for the amount your adding. This will treat your tanks and you're good to go from there, just keep using the Startron every time you take on fuel.

QUESTION:

On fill up should i use 1 bottle for each tank??

100 gals each tank =2 bottles

found this:

Fight organic growth without biocide!

New enzyme-based additive increases fuel economy and engine power while reducing emissions. Stabilizes gas for short and long term periods of inactivity (up to one year) while preventing the formation of sludge and varnish. Eliminates carbon buildup in fuel delivery system and exhaust components. Maintains octane and removes water from the fuel, making it the perfect solution to prevent and eliminate ethanol (E-10) fuel problems.

* Reduce fuel consumption and engine wear while increasing power
* Enzymes treat water in fuel
* For use with any engine; not toxic to the environment
* Eight ounces treats 125 gallons of gas

Hi Bill,

When you add the Startron for the first time, you will add a primer amount. Just look on the side of the bottle and it will tell you how much to add for initial treatment. But as said earlier, you can not over use this stuff (also noted on side of bottle). Then just add every time you add gas. As long as you are treating with the minimum, you should be good to go.

Thank you Matt.......:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Dont mean to commandeer this thread but its on a related topic. Does Marvel Mystery oil perform the same way as Startron? Someone suggested that I add a quart Of MMO on my next fill up. Is this also good for eliminating the problems of E-10 gas or is it more for lubrication? Is anyone familiar with both products that can shed some light on the subject?

I add a small bottle (not sure if its a pint or 8 oz's) to every fill up. 150 Gallon Tank
Not really sure if it does anything but I add it for piece of mind.

WOW ......Any problems?????:smt089
I thought in the interest of completeness I'd report that I ran through an entire tank of gas with the cap liner in my tank and never had a problem.

And when I say an entire tank I mean I put 37.6 gallons into a 38 gallon tank after running from Orange Beach, AL to Pensacola, FL and back to watch the Blue Angels air show a couple of weeks ago.

Good thing that when the tank was really low on gas I was pulling a tube the day after the air show just a few hundred yards away from the launch and I had a friend who was in his boat near me.
